I am thankful for the opportunity to bring my artwork to the city I grew up in. “Rooted” will be my first artist in residence showing.
The time I have will showcase my story and more of being biracial. My roots run into this province deep, as I am Indigenous with blood from Siksika and TsuuTina nations. I am also half Jamaican. History directly from the transatlantic slave trade to Jamaica.
I have been an artist for what seems forever and shown my work from 2007 at various points in my life.
I hope you will join me and share your story or come and learn more about the shared experience many biracial people have.

[Image Description: The poster shows a silhouette of a person’s torso in profile, emerging from the earth, hands together in prayer, face looking up. The bottom half of the body appears as roots going into the ground. There are two shadowy eyes watching over the whole image.]
