Dustin Harvey of Secret Theatre (Halifax) joins us in residence to workshop AWAKE AND STILL DROWNING, a cautionary fable about the day Nova Scotia becomes an island. It is a tale told through a combination of digital and live performance in which watching and performing signify the high cost of human migration when the exploited ocean takes back what is hers. The experience takes a simple approach to the interactive medium, allowing audience members to simultaneously play the protagonist’s part, a flock of little white birds living by the shoreline.
